This body of work by L.J. Rhodes represents a significant shift from direct portraiture to the exploration of human presence through the "traces they leave behind". Driven by a personal sense of urgency following a diagnosis of heart failure, Rhodes uses this project to contemplate mortality and the legacy of objects.
