Abstract

This web exhibit ( https://kathrynbryles.omeka.net/ ) will examine the material remains, mostly ceramics, recovered from the Castelo Archaeological Research Project. The artifacts recovered in Castelo’s two seasons range from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron age, dated through make and decoration. Pottery has remained crucial to the culture of the people of the Alentejo, with the region being well known for its traditional style. Analysis of the selected artifacts will also be discussed, along with examining the site itself.
