Abstract
Breast cancer is everywhere. The disease has touched the lives of most people. This thesis includes a description of my family's personal breast cancer journey, my grandmother died of the disease at age 42, and my mother was diagnosed at age 53. By sharing our personal story, I hope to provide my children with our history. Another goal in sharing is adding to the public breast cancer narrative. This thesis also discusses the use of breast cancer in cause marketing campaigns and the lack of advancements in screening technologies. I link my views with those who feel frustration with the flippant nature of cause marketing and stagnant screening methods.
