Abstract
This thesis explores the idea that the mural is a valuable tool that teachers should be encouraged to use. The mural project combines co-operative group work, history lessons, review of current events, social changes, and self evaluation. These public art forms are easily accessible because they can be found on the walls of many public buildings as well as on the Internet. The creation of a mural involves cross curricular learning in math, science, and the language arts.
